How to Make Beaded Pens, is the seventeenth book in the Beadflowers Beading Patterns series. It offers you all of the beaded pen designs that I created during my career. These projects were originally shared as tutorials through the Beadflowers website. All of the projects in this volume use size 11 Delica beads. You are going to be working in Peyote stitch, using either odd count or even count, so this is perfect for all levels of experience. Each design gives you a Peyote stitch picture chart and word chart to follow. These designs will fit either slimline beadable pens, or the standard G2 pens. The book includes information about where to buy the pens and the patterns have been adapted to create a variation for each type of pen. This is a book that invites you to grow your skills from beginner to a more advanced level. I have included detailed instructions on how to make the pens. The opening section also guides you in how to create your own designs (if you wish to do that), choose your own colouring, and more. Finally, if you wish to make pens to sell, I have included a short section with advice on how to go about that as well. Then, you have more than twenty-five different designs themed for celebrations, nature, hobbies, food, flags and more! So, I hope you have fun creating beaded pens, giving them as beautiful gifts, and perhaps selling them too.Katie Dean followed a career in the beading industry for over 12 years. During that time, she designed and published over 500 patterns, more than 10 books, and taught numerous beading classes, both in-person and online. She also worked as editor of Bead and Jewellery Magazine for 3 years, ran her own business, Beadflowers, and appeared on the Craft Channel and Jewellery Maker TV. She reached the finals and won multiple international beading competitions, participated several times in Battle of the Beadsmith, and had her designs published in just about every major beading magazine across the world (back when beading magazines existed!). The information and projects shared in this book series, Beadflowers Beading Patterns, represent the legacy of Katie's beading experience and designs. May they support you in growing your skills and bring you much joy as you explore the wonderful world of beading! Read more
